Dr. Rusudan Kakava currently teaches analytical chemistry at SDSU Georgia, department of chemistry/biochemistry. At the same time she is a researcher at Tbilisi State University, department of physical and analytical chemistry and an invited lecturer at Tbilisi State Medical University.

Dr. Kakava has received a PhD in physical chemistry from Tbilisi State University, department of physical and analytical chemistry (2018). Part of her PhD thesis was completed in Milan Polytechnic University, department of chemistry, materials and chemical engineering.

Her research interests focus on chiral separations, study of enantiomeric recognition mechanisms and asymmetric synthesis.
